Catching Up

Janie's open-mouthed grin (as Seannie puts it)
one of Janie's new skills--pushing off your hands, pre-crawling

putting her hands together--eye-hand coordination

sitting in a chair in a nightgown

double-fisting the toys

arching her back to see everything

standing and loving it

smiling at Dad (in the first fancy dress I bought her, when I found out we were having a girl)

eager

cheeks McGee

gentle Jane

strong legs

in the Baby Bjorn harness--(because I really wanted to walk to my favorite antique store while Michael had the car--even though it was about 103 degrees out and a mile away)--this is what I have looking up at me!

turning on to the side--common lately--she likes to see the characters on the side of her mat

escaping from the swaddle

first rice cereal feeding!

not too interested

getting her bath cup in her mouth--a minute earlier she was balancing it on both her feet at once!

just sweet

Marble Falls

On a day trip to the town of Wimberly, after nursing in a gift/coffee shop. The hill country has lots of cute small towns.
This summer, we have made a few short trips to Michael's parents' house in the hill country so Michael can do research at nearby Texas State University, where the Cormac McCarthy papers happen to be housed.  It is really nice because they adore Janie, have a beautiful house and garden, and offer to babysit for us. Also, sometimes Janie's cousins Lara and Shannon are there and her Uncle Bryan and Aunt Amanda, too.
Nana loves entertaining Janie and getting her to try new things.

Michael fed Jane in the back of the car on the way back from Wimberly.

Smiling at Daddy

Playing with Lara. Lara is great at entertaining Janie.

Jane loves to crinkle!  Anything form the wipes package to empty water bottles to her crinkle toys. I gave her a bag of chips to crinkle in the store and it calmed her right down.  It was also so cute seeing Jane propped up in the corner of this chair, just chillin'.
