South Carolina

Charleston is special to us because Michael proposed to me there in Christmas 2010--and because we fell in love there!  Well, I was there--we talked on the phone a lot while I was on the Isle of Palms two years ago (only two years!  a lot has happened!).  He actually flew out to meet me there that week and helped me drive home for what we call the longest and best first date ever.

This summer, we had a great week on the Isle of Palms in mid-August with Erin's family, my niece Eva, my mom and Pete, and my Aunt Sue and Uncle Jerry.  The ocean is beautiful there.   No sharks bit us and no hurricanes interfered with us.  Everyone wanted to hold Janie, and we got out of the house a bit while Janie was napping, because we had babysitters galore.  The only problem was that Michael and I were attacked by mosquitoes  when I suggested going for a walk one night.   It sounded like such a good idea.

Janie got to meet her new cousin Annalisa and get kissed by Seannie and Jamesie.  Eva, Mom, and Sue all got to hold Janie, which makes me happy because I miss my family being so far away, and I am sad that they miss all of Janie's extreme sweetness and frequent changes.  So here are some great pics!

Sue was living it up--she looooves babies

no trip would be complete without an outing to club C...Seannie loves the "tastings" and I love the cheap, delicious coffee

Eva was about to start high school

Eva is excellent at getting Janie to laugh!

awww, three generations--Mama Peggy likes to kiss Janie's cheeks like she kissed mine

this picture seems to show Jamesie's personality perfectly

  2. piles of babies and cousins galore! What fun memories we have of the beach weeks in SC! Who knew two years ago when Denise was up all night on the phone with Michael that only 2 years later we would have sweet baby Jane!
